SMART recently led the send-off event for two of the country’s top medal bets for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China, taekwondo jins Tshomlee Go and Marie Antoinette “Toni” Rivero. The send-off coincided with the 31st National Taekwondo Championships held at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium, where more than 1,500 jins gathered to participate in the taekwondo tilt and pay tribute to Go and Rivero’s quest for the elusive Olympic title. SMART has been actively supporting the training of Go, Rivero, and other aspiring athletes in other sports such as tennis, boxing, and basketball, as it aims to help the development of young Filipino athletes and promote the value of sports.
