The opening game of the 34th season of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) was turned into a giant cheer fest by SMARTees who came in full force to support the maiden fight of the newly re-tooled, re-branded, and recharged TALK ‘N TEXT TROPANG TEXTERS against the Coca-Cola Tigers. Led by sports fans and PLDT/SMART officials Manny Pangilinan, Mon Fernandez, Ricky Vargas, and Pato Gregorio, SMARTees trooped to the Araneta Coliseum with their kids in tow, as the Talk ‘N Text hardcourt heroes escorted select female SMARTees during the opening parade joined by all PBA teams. Talk ‘N Text endorser and team muse Rufa Mae Quinto, dressed as Snow White and escorted by “the seven dwarves”, also helped cheer as the Tropang Texters engaged their opponents in a tight and highly exciting ballgame, leading up to a winning end, 98-97.
