SMART We're helping Sports.

It is not often that we see basketball players off the court. But last 31st of July, we saw the PBA
players running around the grounds of SM Mall of Asia, as they took part in the 2010 PBA Run for a
Cause. A lot of PBA players, fans, runners, sponsors, friends from media, and supporters gathered to
make this event possible, most especially because the proceeds of this event will go to the Cancer
and Hematology Center of the Philippine Children Medical Center.

The event consisted of 3 distance categories: 3k, 5k, 10k. From pros, to amateurs, everyone had a
chance to bag prizes of the race and the raffle. Male and female first placers received P 7000
    (10k), P 5000 (5k), and P 3000 (3k) respectively. Timepieces were also given out to Top 3 (male and
female) finishers, while Smart Sports gave out finisher shirts for the Top 50 finishers per distance
category. But no finisher went home empty handed because all race finishers were given shirts, loot
bags, and medals. For the raffle, four lucky participants won timepieces from LTime Studio and the
luckiest participant won an accommodation for two, for 3 days and 2 nights at Boracay Terraces.

It was a fun morning; everyone was full of high energy and excitement. Fans enjoyed running with
their favorite basketball players, and having photo ops with them. Glee was reflected on the faces
of all the finishers, showing a feeling of fulfillment after completing the race.

This is just one of the many activities of PBA off the court; activities that do not only showcase
basketball, but also an advocacy of helping those in need.
