Stankovic cup was organise by Lebanon federation like a test for Fiba
Asian championship 2011 in Beirut.The organisation was terrible.Gym
was 2 hours drive from hotel.The gym dont have ac.There only 2 loker
rooms.All the teams were comlaining about organization and shaik Saud
president of Fiba Asia said to me that he is thinkink to pull out from
Lebanon organisation of 2011Mybe it is chanse to bid again to organise
in Manila.Our team played very good dispite the problem what we had
before the cup that we were thikink not to go there.Marcus Douthit and
Chris Lutz couldnt play because of the passport,Greg Slauter JR
Cawalling ang Ramos Aldriche because of the school.Last day before the
cup we gat premision from PBA for Asi Taulava to join us because we
didnt have a big player.Two days before Japet Aghilar had a accident
at home and he didnt play first game with Lebanon.We had very
difficult group domestic Lebanon,Qatar,Jordan and Syria.Jorda and
Lebanon are participaintig and the world champion in Istambul.In a
first game we lost against Lebanon 74_59.We had a chanse to do more
but 6 min before the end we miss 2 free throw on 6 points for Lebanon
and our player Lassiter made intensional foul and tehnical.From that
we recived 7 points and game was decided by that.Our shooting was not
good just 16 percent for3.Second game was very important for us
because it was a game for quaterfinal.WE didnt start the game good but
we played exelent in the second half and we win 81_67.Asi had 17
points and 18 rebounds.Against Jordan we played great game.They had
complete roster and our team show that we are very competitive with
the best team in Asia.We won 75_71.If your know that RP team lost 31
points against them you can imagine what kind of game we had.We lost
against Qatar by 5 points 66_61.We didnt start good it was 21_6 first
quater but after that we won every quater.Qatar is new powerfull
country in Asia.They put 3 new players to the team one position
5,pointquard and Tangi pos.3 probably one of the best player in
Asia.He is 6.5 very atletic like all team of Qatar and he is 22 years
old.He has NBA potensional.We were in a quaterfinal with the record
2_2.We played versus Iran.They had 5 players from Jones cup.They
missed the best players but still strong.We won 79_67.In the semi
final we played versus Lebanon.I think that was the strongest team
last few years with american Wroman, Al Kathibe,Roni Fahed Ali
Mahmod.We played the best basketball ever.It was great game.We were
shooting 31_15 three points.Lebanon also played good.Everybody said
that it was championship game it was best game on tournamet.We had a
ball 8 sec before the end for win.Lasitter shoot the ball with the
foul but they said that the time was over.Everybody show respect for
our team even the Lebanon fants are comming to us with lot of
respect.How strong is Lebanon you can see with the result in the final
when they beat Japan by 40 points and in a quaterfinal Kazastan 51
points different.For the third place we lost versus Qatar by 5
points.I think that we were menthaly tired from the loss against
Lebanon.We played 7 games in 9 days and it was very difficult specialy
to Asi Taula who had just 5 practises with us.We show that we are very
competitive with the bes teams in Asia.With 3 more piaces Marcus,Kelly
and one more outside player we will be ready for Asia games.We lost
these tournamet for one ball but we were the youngest.Next time we
